Trying out two Instagram alternatives. Both are much better than Insta for photography. VSCO https://vsco.co/leolaporteVery nice built-in editing. No social graph to speak of. Pixelfed https://pixelfed.social/@leolaporteFederated ... Mastodon for pix so you can follow me from Mastodon at @leolaporte

@leo @leolaporte VSCO was hot with certain folks a couple years back. https://knowyourmeme.com/memes/vsco-girl I hope you enjoy both apps. Pixelfed is great !

@leo @leolaporte I believe I've made this statement elsewhere in the TWIT community, but the more I see Meta's failure's in Social the more I think Mike Elgan's Nicebook or a discord server is ore more appropriate for social sharing.

@leo @leolaporte - I have been posted to Pixelfed for several years. It is a different crowd than Instagram, but quality of the tech and photography are great. Seems more about the photos than the social.

@leo @leolaporte Did either of these wind up sticking? Still using them?

@mike_mattatall VSCO is actually fabulous. Great filters - a really good viewing experience. But... no one is using it any more so it's a no go. Perhaps that's because of the subscription fee. As for Pixelfed - it's a Mastodon instance so I'll keep posting there. You can follow it here, so it's almost like I'm posting locally.

@leo @leolaporte Have you tried out Glass as well? It's a paid service, but its iOS app is pretty awesome and the folks who run it really love photography and indie creators.
