@selea the spec is absolutely trash, to start with (the c2s spec page takes 2gb of ram to load)the main (and most compliant) server implementation is bloated and slowmost communities are pretty bad, too (i know not a problem of matrix itself but still a reason i dont like it)

@cobra @selea this is all in addition to the fact that Matrix is an unextensible and undemocratic protocol, and you cannot practically host a server yourself, or you have to restrict yourself from joining rooms with more than 50 people.

@selea @cobra none of them worked remotely well for me. they either crashed because for some reason Matrix wants every single message ever sent in a room, or they missed critical features like encryption. on Element, encryption is flawed, and on multiple occasions it has wiped ALL of my messages for no reason. this has happened to friends too.

this is why I don't use this bullshit. monkeys cannot write software.and sqlite is not a problem, it can work with hundreds of thousands of records without any problem at high speed. I did this personally. but I used C and monkeys use bullshit scripts. so they get shitware in any case, with sqlite or any other DB.
