We have guests in our insect hotel. I noticed that some of the round reeds are filled with sand or clay and noticed two solitary wasps or bees entering the open reeds.#biodiversity #garden

@ericbuijs So cool! I'm guessing you're getting mason bees - they are supposed to be much better pollinators than honey bees since they are so messy! (I relate!)

@ericbuijs Here's a nice article on them: https://beehivehero.com/mason-bees/ I had thought that I would like to build a little 'hotel' like yours for them if I ever lived in a place where it would be possible.

@oilyfish Thanks, I'll read it tonight. In the mean I'll captured one of them on camera. It's tinier than a regular wasp (Vespula vulgaris). The other one is black and even smaller.
