       @kev I've thought about setting up my own website with something like WordPress, but I am way too cheap to not use something like static hosting from @codeberg or something haha

       @gregandcin I certainly get the appear for those kind of services - I use them myself for some sites. But the writing workflow on WordPress is just so much better than a static site IMO, that's worth paying for.@codeberg

       @kev That’s an impressive savings each month, for negligible drop in performance. The fact it’s managed on top of everything is a huge bonus. In playing around with other platforms, I’ve come back full circle to the realization that I don’t want to faff about with “self-hosting”, be it directly or even a Git/Netlify combination. I just want to write and publish. I’ve been spoiled by Micro.blog in this regard, same as you by WordPress.

       @pim yeah, I totally get you and that's where I am. I just want to write my posts and hit publish.The changes to the theme are really helping my constant need to mess around too. There's not much there to mess around with now, so I'm concentrating more on content.

       @kev @pim Thanks for the info Kev. I am looking for some hosting as well for my wordpress now on a VPS on DigitalOcean. I had looked at GreenGeeks for awhile. The DO thing is fine for a shorter period but I don't think I want to pay the freight over the long haul.

       @mpmilestogo cloudways are a happy medium. You basically get a DO VPS through them and they manage it all for you. There’s nothing you need to do from a technical perspective, it’s all just clicks on their website. They do the rest.They’re really really good.@pim
