       @neglesaksI think that's because you only look at what's emitted at the end of the chain. Do you think it pollutes less to extract uranium from middle africa, send it to europe and then burn it, than say extract coal from the same country as the power plant and burn it there ?

       @lefarfadet Considering that you need a million tonnes of Anthracite to produce the same amount of energy that you can extract from one tonne of fissile material - and that's with the current level of nuclear technology.And FYI - bulk sea shipping is at least as energy efficient as rail transport.
