@georgia @chjara or at least try to get beyond this low effort quip. if you're going to use "the dose makes the poison" you need to actually look at the dose, and the toxicity.and roundup weedkiller is a significant public health issue. we're not just talking about one molecule of glyphosate in people's urine. it's ubiquitous in food and envrionmentjust looking for various material i've viewed in the past on this topic, it's incredible how many now 404 and how much of it has been memory holed. monsanto aggressively attacks anyone who threatens their profits.

@meowski @chjara "the dose makes the poison" is trite but also pretty much toxicology 101, however that doesn't mean that it's normal that herbicides are so prolific. the industrialization of food production is bad for health and society as a whole. glyphosate is less persistent than other herbicides so it probably bioaccumulates less but i'm very suspicious of literature claiming its not carcinogenic. all in all its still a very alarming headline despite the conclusion of it being misleading.

@georgia @chjara what's misleading about it? i didn't read the article cause you didn't link to it, and i've been down this rabitt trail many times anyway. the conclusion i've come to is that roundup is actually a major public health concern, especialyl the GMO roundup-ready varieites where they can spray obscene amounts of it on the plant because the plant is genetically resistant to it.it's used indiscriminately on crops, especially corn, soy and wheat. they spray it on wheat as a "ripening agent" one of the best arguments for buying organic foods especially these 3 crops
