They seem to envision an inevitable, dystopian future, where the useless humans, must be controlled for the benefit of us all but mostly for the useful people.

@kf4yfa@mastodon.social I like the concept of the decentralized fediverse. I've gotten kicked off some of the instances for my views but I still have a presence. Also, there are enough conservative views here to make me happy. I don't do 'big tech' anymore. Anyway, just because there may be hundreds of millions on those big tech soap boxes, that doesn't mean one will get all those eyes, minds and hearts either. Out of all social media outlets the Fediverse and Minds are where I find the most support, not Gab, Gettr, Parler, MeWe, TruthSocial or Diaspora and I use them all. I don't use Twitter or Facebook any longer and I don't miss them. I don't use or watch WokeTube but for the one or two content providers that I like who still use it, I'll watch them on Invidious, if I bother to watch them at all. I mainly use LBRY and it's front ends like Odysee, librarian, FastLbry-GTK and LyBerry. Having many choices instead of being walled into the 'big tech' ghettos is a more effective strategy for contacts, I think.

I don't think I know of session, please give me links so that I can see what it is. I love XMPP and Mumble also, and I run my own servers respectively.

@kf4yfa@mastodon.social I don't use Windows because I've never had to since 1998, but I use Linux, NetBSD, OpenBSD, OpenWRT and Libreelec on the network. The Linux distros I'm currently using, are Arch Linux, Debian and Manjaro and I have an OpenBSD and NetBSD box online too.

@kf4yfa@mastodon.social Understood, that may indeed be true, Microsoft has an an entire military establishment of developers pumping out useful software, and people must use the tools that are most familiar and adaptive, for them. What I hated most about Microsoft and the other proprieties was the inability for me to fix their many bugs and mistakes myself, since I didn't have the sources. That's what I love most about using Free and Open Source Software. I remember when I abandoned Apple and Microsoft in 1998 and installed my first Linux Distro, Red Hat 6.1, I had to invent many things. It became easier once more communities started using Linux and sharing there various techniques. Those times, though dark for some, were excellent times of learning and discoveries. They still are, I'm constantly learning and relearning things perpetually and I love doing so.

However, his forgiveness, knows no bounds and I seem to be straying less and less and waking the narrow way. He's been very good to me and I witness his bounty and blessings constantly. @kf4yfa@mastodon.social Only a few of my favorite apps require me to use a GUI. For Mastodon & Pleroma instances I can use a Command line interface app called toot. However, Misskey is my favorite fediverse client and alas, toot doesn't work with Misskey, so I'm using the GUI just to use Misskey at the moment, I came to see you as a matter of fact, I wanted to know your response to my answers and I've gotten them, plus some good conversation and some fine links.
