I’m gathering up articles about transgender crime patterns. Someone was complaining to me about the murder epidemic of transgender people and how they are not a threat to women at all and I disagreed following the Freedom of Information Act data on transgender prisoners in the USA.“According to the document, 48.47% of biological male inmates identifying as women are in federal custody for sex offences, compared to just 4.71% of biological females identifying as men, and 11.2% of the non-transgender male population of federal inmates in general.”https://4w.pub/50-of-trans-inmates-in-federal-custody-for-sex-offences/https://archive.ph/D2tsfThe criminal pattern is similar in the UK as well “This is the report we published in October 2017. Since that time the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) have confirmed by Freedom of Information requests that 60 of the 125 transgender prisoners known to be in prison in England and Wales are convicted sex offenders.”https://fairplayforwomen.com/transgender-prisonershttps://archive.ph/mc8zShttps://www.bbc.com/news/uk-42221629 https://archive.ph/2wfhM/This was a fact check by bbc and did confirm that 60 transgender prisoners were convicted of sex offenses but claims that more prisoners were likely serving short sentences and were not counted. Also shows that prisons are not collecting data.“We don't know how often transgender prisoners ask to move prisons, or how often those requests are agreed to.The Ministry of Justice said it was unable to collate those figures for us.”Here are some places talking about this.https://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/womens_rights/4444977-USA-Almost-50-of-Trans-Inmates-in-Federal-Custody-for-Sex-Offenceshttps://archive.ph/G76SO/ “Two rather different prison systems, two different criminal justice systems (Law & Order in my head now.) Similar over representation of sex crime amongst that population.I understand about phobia concerns underlying conviction. But if this is showing similar numbers in these two countries, there needs to be acknowledgement [of] the fact.”https://www.lipstickalley.com/threads/leaked-biden-plan-would-house-violent-men-in-women%E2%80%99s-prison-cells.4769376/ https://archive.ph/wNCFR“The reality is that many transwomen are a threat to women, but they are willing to put real women in danger to uphold an ideal. If we are being honest a lot of these trans women hate women. They do not care about us, they care about themselves.”https://ovarit.com/o/GenderCritical/57689/usa-almost-50-of-trans-inmates-in-federal-custody-for-sex-offences“Note that since these figures are for federal prisons only, these inmates would not be behind bars for doing "sex work" like TRAs claim... Prisoners in federal custody for sex crimes have been charged with, or convicted of, federal sex crimes, which ‘are some of the most serious criminal offenses in the United States.’Federal sex crimes include sex crimes against children and minors; sex trafficking; sex crimes committed as part of criminal conspiracies over time; sex crimes involving torture, murder, kidnapping, imprisonment, sadism and federal hate crime aggravators; sex crimes involving the making, distribution or possession of images or footage of children and minors being sexually abused; sex crimes that involve crossing state lines or the USA's borders.”https://www.federalcharges.com/list-of-federal-sex-crimes-types-of-charges/https://archive.ph/DjvHIAnyone else have articles about this, especially from sources that are “unbiased” towards transgender people? Or the original copy of the responses to the FOIAs?#WomensPrisons #Trans #Prisons #WomensResources #FeministResources #TransCrimeWave

@Jar This was a study in California showing TiMs are more likely to incarcerated in higher security prisons and be on sex offender registries. https://cpb-us-e2.wpmucdn.com/sites.uci.edu/dist/0/1149/files/2013/06/A-Demographic-Assessment-of-Transgender-Inmates-in-Mens-Prisons.pdfFrom Kathleen Stock in the UK which also cites the Swedish studyhttps://committees.parliament.uk/writtenevidence/18973/pdf/The researchers state: ‘male-to-females . . . retained a male pattern regarding criminality. The same was true regarding violent crime.’in federal custody for sex offences, compared to just 4.71% of biological females identifying as menI remember reading in a press release about that report that this is still higher than the % of females in federal custody for sex offences which is about 3%
