Everything should have balance.Ying and yang.80s technology was just right: good enough to do lots of cool shit without consuming and controlling our lives.

@threalist "The industrial activity that expands relentlessly with developments in the natural sciences is basically a campaign to promote energy consumption. Its target has not been so much to boost energy production as to senselessly waste energy. As long as man continues to take the stance that he is 'developing' nature, the materials and resources of the earth will go on drying up." -Masanobu Fukuoka, The Natural Way of Farming, Natural Farming for a New Age, The Only Future For Man

The spiritual boomer sacrifices the Good for convenience and avoids facing reality when it is difficult and uncomfortable.https://www.nbcnews.com/health/health-news/social-media-use-linked-depression-adults-rcna6445“Our brains were not built for this kind of social interaction. And social media is kind of hijacking the need for social interaction with something very artificial and insufficient,”

@masterofthetiger @threalist Emacs is seventies tech, and eighties tech, and nineties tech, and two thousands tech, and twenty-tens tech, and twenty-twenties tech. Emacs is always new, always relevant. Emacs rocks! I use it every day, since 1990.

@epic @threalist @masterofthetiger Once you've programmed your lizard brain for Emacs commands, it takes great motivation to do it again. VIM was never that motivating, for me.

I'm so with ya. Emacs is "the go to" for Lisp. It's the kind.I'm just afraid my hands would spasmodically seize up trying to hold <Ctrl-><Alt-><Win-><Shift->F8 as just part of one finger-bending editor instruction among many.Avoidance of Emacs-induced arthritic hand-cramping seizures is motivation enough for me.😁 All in good fun.Spaces or tabs?
