seriously, if I'll ever be in charge of hiring a programmers or engineers, I'll only require and test for understanding of the theories and paradigms — learning specific languages and libraries is a very technical thing anyone who's familiar with the concepts can do quickly enough

@amiloradovsky lol I did almost exactly this, except I talked to candidates. Written tests are a waste of time and a sign of disrespect in many regards. An interview and a programming assignment is usually more than enough.

@newt @amiloradovsky couldn't agree more. Along with getting an idea of communication skills, empathic abilities, learning preferences, personal leadership style etc
