Saying "they shouldn't have invested more than they could afford to lose" about people who've just lost everything only excuses those who continue the narrative that crypto is a solution for people who don't HAVE money they can afford to lose.https://blog.mollywhite.net/stop-saying-they-shouldnt-have-invested-more-than-they-can-afford-to-lose/

@molly0xfff@mastodon.social Both can be true, though. Cryptocurrency or not, you shouldn't "invest" all your savings into anything. That's just dumb, and people should be told not to do such dumb things.Cryptocurrency is also a problem. It mostly attracts dumb people, but that is not the main problem with it. It should have been heavily regulated by now (read: outlawed) for being a very dumb waste of energy for no return with a high potential for scamming).

@molly0xfff Hm. While victim blaming is certainly bad, I am under the impression that moving more and more away from talking about personal responsibility will come back to kick us in the ass. Also, why so many people think that the only life that is worth living is that of a millionaire? And Spike Lee? Damn, that was reckless.
