@yukiame In defense of Florida, Salt Water Croc is the best meat I have ever had. It's like the texture of lobster with the taste of chicken.

@Mikerotch75 @yukiame But, honestly, every culture has a version of pasties. Deep fry it and now it's a fried pie or an empanada.

@yukiame I disagree with Clam Pizza being the weirdest food from my state. A local pizza place has a PEANUT BUTTER pizza, which is way weirder. Also, if there was a food unique to Connecticut, it would be the steamed cheeseburger. Some people love it, others hate it, for me it is just "meh". But, generally, it is not found anywhere else in the US. unless as a specialty item.

@chrislw @yukiame I thought the same about both CT and RI. Chop suey sandwiches are a thing, but not super prominent. I've had to spend much more time explaining coffee milk and stuffies to non-Rhode Islanders. And leave my clam pizza alone!

@LadyButters @yukiame I LOVED coffee milk growing up However, I think I used way too much syrup, as kids do.I don't see ANY issues with clam pizza whatsoever.I am regretfully ignorant as to what stuffies are.

@chrislw @yukiame Stuffies are stuffed quahogs. In my part of RI, there's a 99.9% chance the stuffing will contain chourico. 🙂

@LadyButters @yukiame Those sound AMAZING. I have a long-time family friend who lives in Westerly, I'll need to inquire as to where the best ones are there.

@yukiame @chrislw I don't believe I've had the Spanish chorizo but Portuguese chourico is unavoidable around here. From what I'm reading, the key difference is that chorizo is cured while chourico is fully cooked and uses less spicy ingredients. It was worth taking a break from my workday for this very important research.
