Buying physical media from thrift stores because:- The Awful Media Companies don’t get a penny on resales.- The Awful Media Companies can’t take it away from me if they decide that I’m no longer a profitable customer.- Some money to the good cause supported by the local thrifty.- Can take home a physical copy of a movie for less than it would cost to rent it from a streaming service.

@readsteven I've been getting VHS tapes from thrift stores for a couple years now. It's usually much cheaper than renting or "buying" from VOD.

@nantucketebooks Our VHS died and we haven't found a reasonable replacement. The DVD prices at our preferred place is $1-2, which is still cheaper than a VOD "rental" around here. DVD's are easier for me to back up and format shift.
