       @VarnaNecropolis @Eric_Striker @Herger If true totally harmful to the franchise, for McDonald’s biggest strength from around the beginning was control of the quality of their food in terms of health.As the Interstate highway system and 1950s and for a while ‘60s prosperity, plus some jobs that changed as traveling by car across the nation didn’t require slow plodding through town and city centers it offered food that was at least OK (and the french fries cooks in beef tallow were great) and that wouldn’t make you sick which is really bad news when you’re on the road.Compare to Chipotle which was so busying being cool and woke they never focused on this type of quality until they had enough bad incidents they were forced to.As I understand it while McDonald’s often made adaptations to local customs as the expanded outside the US, control of quality continued to be a focus.  Jettison that in a 2nd/3rd world way while also losing the brand itself and I’m sure some of its specific recipes and I don’t see any unique selling proposition.
