Today Im getting a rack for my bike and am going to do a decent length ride with a bunch of groceries. I hope this doesnt end extremely poorly. Im pretty excited about it. Ive never had cargo capabilities besides a bookbag on my bike. This will make it so I can ride all the way across town for stuff I need instead of taking the bus. Im gonna be unstoppable.

So the wisdom I learned from this was ALWAYS MAKE SURE THE BIKE RACK YOU BUY ACTUALLY FITS YOUR BIKE. I assumed the one I got would be universal for some reason and it is most certainly not. If I wouldve done a quick test fit in the shop I wouldve instantly known it didnt fit and not have wasted my time and money. Dont be a goof ass like me. Double check your shit.

@joemama I assumed that all bikes had screw holes for a bottle holder and a few weeks ago realized, bottle holder in hand, that mine had none.

@Paradox were you able to drill some? I dont believe my bike has holes for a bottle holder either.

@joemama I could get help with it but I ended up refunding it and getting a clamp-on holder.

@joemama @Paradox It's probably not a good idea to drill into your bike's tubes! The downtube in particular has a lot of tension on it so that could easily cause it to start cracking or just catastrophically fail. Clamp-on is the way to go if there aren't already holes for it.
