There are equally many Vtubers who don't do the idol mask and just be themselves and are popular for doing so. Most indies are more like this, Western and Eastern. So again, Kson was like that when she was Indie, so why would she magically stop when she joined a new company? Especially when she left Hololive specifically because she wanted more freedom.
