New irregular thread I’m starting called Tales from Boomer World, where I’ll just post sad, funny, interesting, or odd stories about how Boomers are living through, coping with, or in denial of living in a collapsing country. I’ll post new stories as I hear them.Boomer friend of the family lives in a nice (White) neighborhood within a bad city. Post-Floyd it has accelerated into a dump and the old generation of White people still living there are now moving out. She saw three African-American gentlemen within her (once nice) neighborhood breaking into and stealing a car. For reasons our family cannot even fathom she walked over to them and yelled at them to stop. One of them pulled a gun out and fired into the air to chase her off.When I was told this story I was flabbergasted. She is insanely lucky she is not dead. She doesn’t seem to understand just how close she came to dying and her murderers being found incompetent to stand trial.

Very sad one here. I have a relative who lives in a neighborhood that’s generally one of those Boomer retirement neighborhoods. Almost no children around except for the odd family that lives in them and visiting grandchildren. Nice suburban neighborhoods with cookie cutter homes.Neighbor Boomer couple, whom to my knowledge but maybe I’m wrong never had kids or if they do live far away, were having marital issues. Ongoing issues because of the husband’s substance abuse issues. She said she was going to leave him. He walks out on the front lawn and shoots himself in broad daylight in this nice neighborhood. Dead on arrival.

@borzoi I have a relative who does similar crap. She lived in what was just 30 years ago once a gorgeous middle class neighborhood , now entirely overrun by blacks, in a city that has long been one of the most violent in the nation. It is a neighborhood where numerous white girls have been beheaded. She would yell at her ratty ghetto black neighbors about noise and mistreatment of their dogs. She is very lucky.She has moved out of there, but her new neighborhood, once an upper class area filled with mansions, is already well into being destroyed by blacks. Hopefully she can live out her last decade or so in safety before it falls entirely.Unfortunately, my large family fled that area in every direction due to the black hordes, and is no longer around to assist her (or even visit her). The isolation of those left behind, of elders in general, is extremely heartbreaking.
