Not only does my #University use #Facebook to share important news even though they already have a #websiteThey also share those announcements as pictures, without alt text or any regard for #accesibility

@joel what about me - when i have online classes only on discord and all CONTACT to teachers other than classes is over facebook messenger ? also - using all google and microsoft products as IT/CS homework. at school too...

@joel You should **really** manifest your concerns.Suggest they, instead, only link the news from the official site on Facebook, which shall be used only to reach out those who are too adicted to it to open the site.Remind them having a Facebook account is an option (which highly educated people are expected not to take, considering current news & concerns), not an obligation.Then take the time to remind them to keep their portal accessible.Best of luck.

@joel My school has its own web and they use that... But then it's Google Suite for all classes but one of my teachers, she used Moodle. :)

@joel Yeah! Mine does that too, they have a website but they post no notices there.Everything is on Facebook. I had left Facebook and now I came back to it as I am the representative and should be the one communicating between the teachers and the class for managing classes and what not. I can't really bring my teachers to platforms like matrix/signal nor can I just not communicate with them.

@joel My son dropped that website and YouTube channel. His YT channel actually started growing but he didn't like the attention it got from kids at school. But he uses those skills now for other things including maintaining an airsoft club he's in.
