When does anything in computing become "retro"? I've recently started working on a code base that lay dormant for over 15 years. Was the C64 already retro in 1997? Does the "event horizon" shift as computing itself grows older?

I think yes, in the world of ideas, #retrocomputing is a moving target. But for many of us personally, it is grounded in the particular years and computers which we bonded with, or imprinted on.And those particular years are different for each of us - I imagine mostly it's our teenage years, whether that be the 70s or the 90s or some other decade. If in doubt, I spring for #computerhistory as being a bigger tent. And also #vintagecomputers in the case of machines older than I am.@patrick
