I just don't know about this commitment to trying to instead give the dude the maximum benefit of the doubt. @Prude @Tyler @e there are so many different age ranges, "Romeo and juliet" laws that can completely throw age of consent out the window, and even certain clauses like in Washington where a teacher can't have sex with a student unless the student is 21+ (one could argue a person doesn't have full sexual autonomy until 21 in Washington). There are also plenty of states that allow marriage below their ages of consent and some states don't even have marriage restrictions at all. It's a lot more complicated than just a flat number because humans are a lot more complicated than that.
