@Ademan I should have done this a while ago, but https://thebag.social now has a simple page explaining the situation and pointing back to this thread for updates. It's obviously on a different host, so give DNS a few minutes to propagate.I have yet to receive from the hosting provider any direct communication whatsoever, nor any general communication which conclusively shows thebag.social is down to due to the migration (though I'm confident this is the case from the timing).

@ademan@shitposter.club @Ademan@noagendasocial.com That's what I used to do for *nix but I haven't automated it in a way I like so I just rely on the VPS to snapshot the VM regularly.Might go back to doing that because it costs more than the storage would.

You can use timeshift to make snapshots on cli. Timeshift keeps it more organized. Then rsync copies offsite using cron. It’s too easy to make a mistake and snapshot has saved my bacon once. My cheapo vps doesn’t do snapshots so it’s up to me. I’m still fine tuning what directories even need backing up besides database.
