i paid off my miles on the first day and now i’m boredi truly hope it’s not this endless crafting chain cause it’s stupid and i hate farming materialsi chose an island with a penis-shaped river and it landed me on this little corner completely separated from the rest by the river, so now i have my house, the plaza, two villagers, and blathers all crammed into one corner of the map and the rest of the island is empty so far, the thing i miss most is my town theme tune playing every time i talk to someone. i miss being able to make my own theme tunenonetheless, nature thrives on pen island

@Lumeinshin this is the first one i’ve played since the original.. did subsequent releases have all this crafting bullshit? it is VERY mobile gamesey. having to craft my own tools to do basic tasks... in a game with no overall plot.. uhhh..

@Lumeinshin @theblessing I hope at least the game is not a buggy mess like Bethesda games. Playing Fallout 4 made me hate building and crafting stuff because the game would mess with stuff I spent hours doing constantly, and I used to love it.

@deadheat @Lumeinshin so far, it doesn’t seem buggy, but the interface is very clunky and slow. it plays like an old gamecube game, have to wait for animations to finish for dialogue or action to proceed, tons of submenus and options to choose and confirm, multiple extra dialogue boxes for something as simple as accessing my in-game PC... dumb.

@theblessing @rhinocock The game picks up after a couple days. You visit other islands to find villagers and invite them. Your tools get better after a while, too, so you don't spend so much time crafting flimsy ones. After a while you can just buy tools from the shop and not have to worry about crafting them at all.
