       @honky The boomers were really fanatical about the value of college but their kids are all aged out of the system now so it’s zoomers and their parents (gen x) aren’t as sure about college. Plus I think there’s a growing cultural understanding that people don’t learn much at your bog standard place so the degree isn’t enriching your life if it’s not boosting your career directly

       Yeah. I can honestly say I needed it. Realistically had to have it to find a way “out.”  For me it worked. For MANY it’s a goddamn waste of money.

       @honky Yeah it worked for me but that’s because I didn’t take on a lot of debt and I made really sure that what I was doing was gonna yield a decent living. Crazy that people will go into massive debt for something of zero market value
