@ademalsasa XMPP is the best!More apps and XEPs should be based on it.We could have stickers, reactions, all those things #Signal has had for a while, and still not break compatibility (of course, those features wouldn't show) with simpler, lighter apps!Also, governments and institutions should enforce the use of XMPP, and maybe the use of their own server (governments, specially) if possible.

@ademalsasa I use XMPP but I'm not impressed. Lots of spam. I switched to magicbroccoli.de as a server, because it offers more privacy.

@ademalsasa yes, Conversations on mobile and Psi on desktop. Sometimes Psi can get unreliable and crashing, then it gets replaced by Dino.But nothing really replaces Psi, since I'm also using IRC transport on jabberfr.org, and like many XMPP server software, it gets configured through Ad-Hoc which doesn't present in modern clients. :(

@ademalsasa I use prosody, best server software I've used. Easily configurable and secure (ejabberd is insecure, OpenBSD warns you about using it on install)I use profanity on desktop, conversations on android. Decent clients.

@ademalsasa@floss.social For clients, I use Dino on Linux and Gajim on Windows. Both generally work well, though I prefer Dino whenever I can.I do run my own server which uses Prosody. The 0.12.x releases have made it much more nicer compared to previous versions thanks to the new plugin installer.
