Yes, the army has secret ray guns, and they’re willing to risk exposing them to the world in order to [ check notes ] start bushfires. Given the size of the black budget, it’s a shame there’s no cheaper or easier way to get fire.

@Sophistifunk Discarded bottles seem to do the job just fine.However, a handful of friends and I came to the 20/80 years ago: whatever is public knowledge about advanced academic, government, or military science/technologies is about the 20% that we know about as opposed to the 80% still obfuscated.

People no longer believe what they see and hear. The further something is from accepted reality, the greater impunity they have to use it right out in the open.
