@Dan_Hulson Nah, most outlets are 120v (Single live phase & neutral) but almost all residential properties have 240v coming to the breaker box (2x 120v feeds, 180Deg out of phase). It's then divvied up in the breaker box with each alternating breaker getting either phase A or B as the live, with a common neutral.There are many appliances that get a double breaker, giving it both phases and thus 240v, such as electric clothes dryers, electric stoves, A/C compressors, Etc.
