Wtf.. A 16yr old has been arrested yesterday with the farmers protest. He tried to run over police cars with a tractor and the police shot on him.The news says 'a 16yr old farmer' :amaze: Dude, a 16yr old should be on school and not a 'farmer' :blobderp: The Netherlands suuuuuucks

@stux@mstdn.social it actually used to be very typical for farmer families to keep their children from school in order to help on the farm. I don't know if that's still a thing, but I wouldn't be surprised if it was.It's too bad because you can really see what that does to the level of thinking in these young ones.

@420CatLover Haha neoooh, the Netherlands😉 only place I know! It's kinda rare police has to shoot in the first place here though! For example; if a report gets in about someone with a weapon (just been seen for example, can even be a real-like-toy) a special police unit steps in and arrests the person! Normal police cannot approch people with fire arms, only in emergengy etc etc

@420CatLover Haha i think so :blobcatgiggle: Other words: ive only seen a gun once from my grandpa but never again with non-police people, like ever :blobcatgiggle: Well, it's more the fear it can cause people :ablobwink: BB guns have to have a red dot at the end for example or toy guns should always be in a different color etc, I think even most issues with 'guns' are from fake ones from plastic and BB etc

@stux well, here in rural Alberta, most farm kids would be in school on school days, or home schooled, but there is plenty of time outside school hours for farm work, and of course all summer, other holidays...

@stux @fristi Even for 16y/o? Because in France that's when mandatory school stops.And in a way, I could see things like homeschooling happening just so holidays happen at harvest time.
