#Goldfish is a brand new project created by @stux as a FOSS replacement for platforms like TikTok & Vine.Development has started a few days ago and the first rought draft is online at https://goldfish.social The platform is build in Laravel from scratch and the plan is to also add ActivityPub so it can connect with the Fediverse in the future.Our git repo will be updated when a good first version is done ✅ We also have a Patreon page for the project! @lars @Goldfish @stux Mastodon videos are a 3rd class citizen at best.I have NEVER finished a single mastodon video, the loading times are terrible. That's my experience.Every video in goldfish loaded super fast. So there's that.In the end nothing is necessary anyways, so complaining about that is, well, unnecessary

@Goldfish @stux Not sure this is something I would want. Though, the website lacks a lot of valid information before I would even consider playing with it. No real explaination as to what it is, features, source code link, etc.

@Goldfish @stux The _huge_ barrier to entry WRT TikTok is their music licensing. I don't care for them AT ALL, but when they acquired Musical.ly and got to build around their licensing... it showed real vision.

@Goldfish @stux i think this is the most cynical name possible for an idea like this fhsgdvcit already works extremely well in comparison to every video I've seen posted to Mastodon though which is really exciting
