I ended up getting myself two things at the same time. An Oculus rift, and a 3D printer.Three guesses as to which one is sitting in a box in my basement, and which one I use on a regular basis.

@hj @sampo All of those "girls" (femboys) are all feds, This might be a good manga plot. They're trying to covertly train a loner to conduct a terrorist plot to justify funding for the agency. It can be like little like truman show but a it's a gov't funded dating sim filled with drama like close calls ranging from idiot kid accidently seeing through the veal to parents attempting to rescue their kid and such. Lots of possibilities.

@hj @metalglasses I think it's pretty simple, if you're actively taking part in the story with your own choises, I'd call it playing. Not just like, choosing your character's name but actually making different events occur and arriving at different endings. The nature of the specific media doesn't matter at all.Most VNs that I've played do fall in this category. Obviously there's some smaller doujin works (impressive in their own right) and eroge gargabe that you just spam spacebar through and collect scenes, but in my mind those are a different thing entirely. Just like normal books and the interactive books that you mentioned.

@sampo @metalglasses i mean, there's Umineko no naku koro ni :beatrice: which has NO decisions except at the very very very very end of it supposedly :kinzo:.Then there's FSN which has first arc which is VERY straightforward, i.e. all the choices are either "continue reading" or "die", then there's second and third arcs that are much MUCH more complicated with points and flags and shit.And there's my favorite "VN" which is Ace Attorney which feels more like point-and-click adventure.
