       @wedaly Definitely. There are a lot of mature and robust scripting languages out there with large communities. Neovim for example supports Lua.Bram Moolenaar creating Vim9 script comes from a lack of understanding that vimscript is a custom vendor lock-in programming language evolved from Vi editor commands. It's complicated, buggy, slow, and niche.Vim deserves better.

       @atoponce (not trying to defend Bram) Another thing to consider - vim is his baby. His project. If at least on of the reasons he keeps at it is fun - then it probably is up to him to implement features the fun way (by his standards). Ofc, that is very egocentric view and I can't imagine doing/dragging one project for so long and still finding motivation to do it.
