@abid @cambridgeport90 @humanetech I love it. I used it for a few months but unless you have other people helping with costs, or money isn’t an issue, it’s expensive to maintain.

@humanetech @pch_xyz @abid @cambridgeport90 it’s been over a year, but I remember reading that you might have issues doing updates on the low tier plans. The recommended requirements were what was on $20 plans at the time. Also, Misskey doesn’t or didn’t automatically prune old posts so it eats up storage rapidly unless you implement your own solution for removing old entries. I really like it, but Pleroma wound up being a better set it and forget it option for me.

I set up this one using Docker and the memory insufficient error also occurred during docker-compose build. I found a post saying it is due to WebPack and suggested to replace yarn build in Dockerfile with this:export NODE_OPTIONS="--max-old-space-size=2048" && yarn buildAnd it worked magically.As for the storage, yeah Misskey doesn't have a convenient way to prune old posts, but what actually consumed your storage so fast is Cache remote files. The more instances you federate, the faster they fill up your hard disk. My instance once went offline because of it, the media folder took over 35G out of my 50G HD in one month.

@ente have played with it alot, I was actually the one of the first to contribute english translations early in the project. but my original account was crushed with the downfall of .xyz and haven't played with it in a while
