       @vile REAL time with pause may be a "dated" mechanic but imo it has aged like fine wine and it is THE way to play a d&d game like this

       @MisterLister real talk i just can't do the isometric games and believe me i've tried. for some reason that setup just doesn't jive with me it just always feels janky. tried fallout, divinity original sin, the new shadowrun games, tyranny... and i just can't stand them for very long.

       @vile From someone that has beat bg1 a few times and have put in hours to bg2 and icewind Dale, I get what you mean but I think it's a case of jankiness for thee, intuitive for me. I like that I have to do alot of reading to understand what the fuck is going on. I like that there is a paragraph for every spell, weapon, armour, gem, scroll etc. I LOVE that the game has fights where I can just look away and have to pause every second to make sure things are going my way. But I do wonder if my complete infatuation as a kid with bg yet complete lack of understanding plays a role in me not only defending them, but also wanting to achieve the goal of beating throne of bhaal even if it means uninstalling every other game
