       @TonyStarkAren't all powerful people a danger to humanity?As long as no one is harmed and religions have no influence on politics/society, I don't care who believes what!Spiritual/genuine faith is never dogmatic and does not need institutions. Faith should remain a private matter.  Churches and mosques aren't about religion or faith, but about power. Where power is involved, abuse isn't far.Nothing justifies such power, certainly not from clerics and missionaries!

       @harmonyears2At this point, too many people have used their beliefs to tell people what they should do or must do. It's used as a foundation for suppression of liberty over and over.If people would keep it private, we would have far fewer problems not only in the U.S., but all over.But they just can't seem to.

       @TonyStark True. Humanity's spiritual development still leaves a lot to be desired.  What do you think, how will the public deal with this scandal?Here, the recent cases of abuse have at least led to many leaving the church, thus pushing the church to more contemporary reforms. (Unfortunately, we can only dream of the abolition of the churches).

       @harmonyears2I think the story needs a lot more attention before much new will happen, but the Catholic church has been in a slow decline and now is about 1/5 of the U.S. population, down from over 1/4 in the last few decades. Sorry if I seemed negative earlier. I've had really bad experiences with religious people.
