Whatever study that says "people actually like having spoilers" just has to be full of shit. We had spoilers for the most recent overturning of Roe v Wade, and let me tell you, the salt on the day of the official ruling coming out was not quite as spectacular as it would have been had we not had it spoiled by that one activist leaker working for one of the justices.

@houseoftolstoy I dunno, it's been pretty spectacular as-is, far more than I would have expected for something already spoiled. The most amazing part is that they have already completely forgotten us making fun of their sudden anti-authoritarianism.

@Zerglingman@houseoftolstoyThey hoped it being spoiled would overturn it. Now they're realizing it didn't do shit.

@houseoftolstoy That actually just got me wondering if maybe the leak was to diffuse the unrest. So that all their anger doesn't get released at once and makes them bomb places or something, so instead by leaking you give them the vague hope that maybe it won't go through after all, making them less violent on the day of the leak than the day of the ruling with no leak.

@perpetuallypensive An interesting idea, though I think that @PhenomX6 's theory has a higher likelihood of being true. I cannot know for sure either way though.

@houseoftolstoy @PhenomX6 I guess realistically, women as a group are not in such a desperate situation as to get too violent, as they control the government so much in general. Like deep down, they know they can usually get what they want, and don't want to sabotage the government that caters to them. They want to bitch obviously, but not necessarily seriously threaten the government.

@houseoftolstoy @PhenomX6 If it were blacks or Muslims, different story. One would need to take strategic measures if they were bold enough to make a ruling of this severity targeting those groups.

@perpetuallypensive@houseoftolstoyIt "targets" the black community in the sense many do get abortions but there's also a lot of black pro life activism, namely ones who see abortion as black genocide. Fueling this is the fact planned parenthoods founder said this same thing.
