@CEOofAwesome there's some instances on the fediverse run by literal nazis, but on most decent instances, they're blocked on the server level.

@CEOofAwesome fediverse is the network, mastodon is a popular server software to run a fediverse instance. Other popular server softwares are Pleroma and Misskey.

@CEOofAwesome Pleroma, Mastodon and Misskey are mostly compatible with each other. For example, I sent this reply from a Pleroma server, even using the same app!Misskey is compatible on a server-to-server level (so you can follow and interact between Mastodon and Misskey) but uses a different client-to-server protocol, so fedi client apps designed for Mastodon/Pleroma don't work. You pretty much have to use the web version, which is very resource heavy (on my previous phone, which had only two gigabytes of RAM, it crashed often to the point of unusability)

@LunaDragofelis @CEOofAwesome then there's even more niche stuff, such as hubzilla, which run on other protocols, but hold compatibility with Activitypub/diaspora
