       It’s sad to see local governments advertising use of WhatsApp for public safety. There are so many open source and better alternatives out there.I might be naive to think they are trying to keep a low bar. But also triggers me to think the local government probably got some dirty deal from the Meta surveillance monopoly.

       @rafaelcaricio not surprising at all. Monopolies are created by governments after all. I don't trust WhatsApp, but first of all, i don't trust government in charge of people's safety.

       @rafaelcaricio We are still battling the Microsoft Office war from the early 2000's. We got distracted with Wayland, versus Mir versus Xorg, iptables versus ufw and nft, and SystemD,
