Well, so our current one still will tag remote people who block us, as well as the person they're blocking, while the post scope is unlisted. I eventually settled on this to minimize timeline spam for uninterested parties while retaining what I love about it, which is that people who block often deserve some open mockery. P dislikes the public scope ones, sure, and I'm sure he's making a point with the local to remote block pings on Beholder atm too, which is something ours doesn't do. But he also dislikes being tagged himself directly, which doesn't happen anymore after I graciously granted him a spot on a blacklist file, but that was the angle of his beef with ours prior.

Certainly, the blockbot itself can be better (the mods make it less abusable in many ways and I'd take it further if I learn enough elixir), and also the more I see, the more I understand how flawed ActivityPub is. Of course, while it's good to preempt bad actors in both cases, I think if it was just to make that point, P could be more brief and less disingenuous about things to be both more effective and less easily criticized. Hard to ignore the ego-motive in it often being aimed at people who dare disagree on many other topics as well.

The problem here is p doesn't like that: Since a blockbot only exists to create and exacerbate drama AND it bothers someone who is already mad, it is trying to tweak the nose of someone already in a shitty mode while also handing them a knife.NEETzche and p's disagreement is that p believes the bot should not do that or should have rudimentary protection against abuse. NEETzche does not see anything wrong with his bot's behavior. None of this at all runs up with why NEETzche is banned from poast or the sorts of behavior that make him undesirable to ever talk to, it's just really a fight between an autist who does not understand how the internet works and one who does.I side 100% with p and I would absolutely be doing everything he would in this measure for any bot that tagged the person doing the blocking but not for any bot that avoided doing so had I the autism he had.

I actually had a discussion with another Admin about this vulnerability just two days ago after I noticed his block bot behaved in the same manner, so when I saw @p doing this, I was like....there it is.Like I said before, I was around in the h/p/a days. This is par for the course, and I've seen worse. Warez groups flooding BBS phone lines or flash bombing IRC rooms was a regular occurance.
