When making a peanut butter and jelly sandwich out of two ingredient jars, how do you use your spreader/knife?Note that for the first 2 choices, you are reusing the spreader with either no cleaning or just wiping it off. Choice 3 involves cleaning it properly or using a second spreader, in which case the order doesn't matter. Choice 4 is non-systematic.

@urusan most of the time I just wash the knife, peanut butter first usually because it's on the left (top) side, and because the jelly is easier to wash off at the end

@urusanI use a spoon for the jelly and a knife for the peanut butter. Jelly falls off the knife too easily.

@urusan specifically jelly first, then rinse knife, then peanut butter. Jelly is way easier to rinse off than greasy peanut butter.

@jinxd Gonna be honest here, I used to do this particular one (pb&j licking) when I was living alone.I also sometimes put utensils in my mouth without thinking about it, and have to replace them when I'm cooking for other people or using shared ingredients.

@urusan clean knife after each spread. peanut butter on one side of bread facing up. jelly on one side of bread facing down. on that same slice, opposite side of the jelly, spread peanut butter facing up. then another slice with jelly facing down, and there you go, a triple decker pbj. toast bread beforehand according to your preference.

@urusan jelly first, i don't care if there's residual jelly in the peanut butter jargetting spit and mouth bacteria in the jar is a big no-no but bits of fruit preserve who caresno one in my home has any allergies (and if that were a concern the pb wouldn't be *anywhere* near at hand) but i've still got a yikes reaction at the thought of residual peanut butter in any other food container
