People thinking working 8 hours 5 days a week is enough... Meanwhile I've been working 80-120hour weeks for the past 6 years. I did take one week vacation 4 years ago. When you work 80+ hours you more than double your income. Because the first 40 pays the expenses and the second goes into bank account.

@cybastl Yeah it's a bit different when working for other people. Working for myself makes it feel like less of a waste of life because there is a chance I make something really great.

@cybastl But even I've been considering getting a part time graveyard shift factory job just to meet people. Not much to do out here but work or go drinking.

@enigmatico The 120hour weeks are occasional. Like last week when I stayed up all night working on greenhouse designs after doing normal job during the days. Alternated 4 hours - 6 hours of sleep for a few nights during that. But I made real progress and loved every minute of the night work part.

@enigmatico I actually had a 230hour 2 week pay period back when I did software programming. Pretty sure I had the company record. I had to merge all the code and do the builds at night when everyone was gone.

@Shiroyasha Well, If thats something you did because you wanted to and you agreed on it, thats fine. Its your life and you do with it whatever you want. But dont expect many people to agree with you on that :blobcatsweats:Even 8 hours a day looks like slavery to me.
