Recently I started feeling really paranoid about being tracked online and where I go and what I do. It makes me crazy when listening to podcasts on an iPhone because I know, every fucking second Apple or whatever other company knows what the hell I'm listening to, when I started listening to it, when I paused it, where I went while listening to it, where I am right now, etc.

@rudolf @Hexman I know the point but I do need to use a lot of apps as of right now that would require on an Android Phone for it to either not be rooted, or to run Google Play Services, And I feel a lot more comfortable with Apple than I feel with Google. So I chose the iPhone for the next 5 years

@sotolf although, I would recommend looking into some of the newer options as well, in my opinion if you ignore all the cheap-ass shit it's really interesting, there are even some that have up to 128GB of storage with SD card storage, which is just awesome! I think the AGPTEK ones look cheap and awesome

@metalune I just have had so many bad experiences buying "newer" mp3players, they so often come with a overcomplicated really bad gui and then they break fast, or don't hold their charge, I just want text and a long nice battery run-time.

@metalune for some time now, I have been using a private funkwhale instance a friend of mine has set up and we share our music collections there. With the Subsonic API integration funkwhale has, I can use an app that uses that API to stream music from there (I currently use Subtracks as my app of choice) and nobody knows what the fuck am I doing with my music, except from me, maybe my friend as well.

@getimiskon I don't get funkwhale to be honest, it seems like one of the worst programs that uses the Subsonic API, I host my own Navidrome server but sadly Navidrome doesn't support Podcasts yet, (notice how I only talk about Podcasts, not music)
