@lodart i don't feel like that's a healthy solution! the issue is not really that i'd want to see more posts, but that i don't receive some posts properly from people i follow in the first place... not sure what's going on! :ac_worry:

@Arcana so far, i've only noticed it on Mabel's posts, and replies to her posts too... for example, i don't see @lodart's reply to her, and I didn't receive Mabel's reply to one of my posts. i hope it's nothing too bad, but i'd like to find the source of that issue to fix it!restarted my instance to see if that helps, nevertheless

@helene @lodart That's honestly how it should be tbhI think a sort of server follow is a very useful thing for smaller or single user instancesBut yk it also introduces more duplication in the network and might defeat the point of a single user instance, if you're effectively a member elsewhereI mean following many ppl also populates TWKN so i might do that

@helene Seeing a bunch of broken threads on my instance, also can't see my posta from other instances. Seems like it only gets posts from users I follow and can't fetch the remaining posts. Also outgoing federation is completely broken (replied to this frim my instance a few munites ago, did you see anything)

@helene @lodart Not sure if this is helpful, but I had issues with DNS resolution. It was taking too long so it was negatively affecting my federation on both peertube and pleroma. I wrote a small program to spit out the IP addresses of all the host names I grabbed from my contact list, and after I added them to my hosts file I started federating much better.(The only downside is for folks like me using dynamic DNS, since this solution obviously means we quickly turn invisible once our ip address changes. An alternative could be to just pick particular instances that are having issues or particular instances are quite popular)

@shitpisscum @helene there was an update to pleroma recently that seems to have broken some things, for example i personally cant see some threads from SPC because moon is running 2.4.52 and we are on 2.4.51someone had an issue yesterday with this same thing and updating solved it, so i imagine there's some updated dependency causing it

@shitpisscum @helene not for you -- if others have updated, such as our issue with SPC, you wont be able to see some people on those servers. bajax yesterday couldn't see posts from a bunch of instances because of thisyou can get a demonstration of what i mean if you log into poast on sengi (tootdeck.poa.st if you dont have it) and try viewing moon's profile, it will say his account doesnt exist

@graf @shitpisscum ah, okay, you're running develop? the tags aren't made for them then :akko_think2:but that's a massive jump in version though, so... it will be difficult to track down what could be the issue there, i think (just looking at https://git.pleroma.social/pleroma/pleroma/-/compare/28a17c2dc70f33734aceeb499f38cb804489788f...f9943b2065598d2154b400170d051656a0107518 and that's, massive, to say the least)

@helene @graf @shitpisscum They're develop ~versions but not releases at all, it's just increasing the version counter at the same time as the normal release on the branch since there is a mergeback everytime anyway.Commits should be used instead or better: Don't use develop if you're not going to debug things.

@helene I am not sure if this is what it is used for in pleroma, because last time I admined an instance was a year ago, and the context when authorized fetch was always mentioned was during instance blocks (be it by user or a whole instance). There was a situation when I had troubles fetching a posts of person from mastosoc by searching their url, likely because my instance was blocked by them.
