       If we combine our Twitter and Mastodon followers, less than 23% are here on Mastodon.If you think free software tools should be favored, to build free software tools, you can act:1. Unfollow everything you can on Twitter (you could also suspend your account for one year, to try).2. Follow us here and follow as many mastodon accounts you can.It could be a very strong signals to developers if they realize that they have more followers on Mastodon than on Twitter.

       @regolith Iā€™m working on it, but @Mastodon has one glaring shortcoming for new users, finding the right account in the #fediverse. Ubuntu is a great example, there are 1/2 dozen accounts out there, none of which have been updated in the past year, which leaves some people scratching their headsā€¦

       @elbraderino @Mastodon : Ubuntu official accounts are Facebook and Twitter. Maybe users should report an issue about the need for an official Mastodon account.

       @regolith @Mastodon Even just an RSS feedbot would be nice just to get the convo started. Twitter replaced RSS for me, but I have been steadily going back to RSS feeds and following anyone I find hereā€¦

       @regolithif people are on both, follow them here only. but I wouldn't recommend leaving Twitter. advocate everyone join the fedi but use both and cross post as much as possible. eventually we can just stop going there...

       @regolith the issue is, not everyone on Twitter is also on mastodon. Not to mention, if an artist or somebody is trying to promote their work to a larger audience on twitter, unfollowing them is a terrible idea. As much as Iā€™d like it to be as simple as unfollowing people on Twitter, we really need more content consumers to join mastodon, and the content creators will follow.
