@sickburnbro FDA was fucked from the start, didn’t start out nefarious but it only came into existence to regulate factory farming/food production. Their standards fuck with regular food producers and have them put chemicals into shit due to them having to do that with the disgusting conditions of factory foods.

@sickburnbro I'd be curious to read the story but food manufacturing requires so much Capital investment to get going that's by far the biggest obstacle. I mean 10s of millions potentially 100s of millions dollars for a facility. And infant formula has its own special stricter regulations

@sickburnbro Yeah factory farming came about during inudstrial revolution times as a more “productive” form of farming for city areas as they ditched local farms. Hygiene standards were non existant for them and it got so bad they had the FDA was created to deal with it. The methods they use to “keep food healthy” then began to be applied to regular farms that never had bad food. You can only imagine what kind of additives they put into food in the era of putting lead into baby formula.
