@Jamahiriya it's not any one thing it's that he gets all sorts of little details wrong (like saying "Slav" was an Arabic word) and because he's an autodidact doesn't understand how to weigh mainstream vs. non-mainstream historiographyit's not that mainstream automatically means correct but too often he assumes because some non-academic historian wrote something that it must therefore be true

@Jamahiriya @DK_Dharmaraj In fairness I've heard that the average Roman lived only into their twenties, though that was due to infant mortality being so high, something that would obviously still be an issue in the middle ages. Generally speaking if you made it past the age of five or so you'd have a good chance of making it into your 50s/60s. Not sure how accurate all that is, but I've definitely heard that argument before

Others with better credentials and maybe even better skills will come in his wake and make that material more presentable and palatable than lafonds usual shoving it in our face and grinding it in with a disdainful smirk.

@MaleGoddess @BullSchmitt @Boomerman @DK_Dharmaraj Adult Human Lactase Persistence has evolved separately twice, once in Eurasia (in either the PIE or the Ancestral North Eurasians) leading to all Central Asiatics (IEs, Turkics, Mongols, etc) being Lactose Tolerant due to breeding with the originally initially-lactose-tolerant population, and once, completely separately, in West Africa among certain cattle herding populations. The more mutated genes you have, the more lactase you produce after infancy; there's six sites responsible. The specific mutations at these six sites don't seem to impact the amount of lactase produced, it's purely dependent upon how many you have. The number increases as the IEs move west into Europe. The African evolution can be confirmed to be separate because the mutations, while working ultimately the same, are different.
