and back to windows I go lol, linux is fine for browsing the web, but try to do anything like record audio and make videos, the software is about as stable as a woman who hasnt met her quota of 20 abortions that day

@coolhandjames @coolhandjames I gave up on it as an everyday environment after I had apparently not enabled the ability to hibernate my laptop while installing the OS (like anyone wouldn't want that on by default). I then followed 3 separate guides, with 3 separate solutions, on how to enable it post-installation and couldn't get it to work.The wireless network driver would randomly crash and not recover by itself, and multiple Bluetooth drivers wouldn't work with my headphones after trying every combination of settings under the sun.In short, it's desktop flavours are fucking terrible from a UX perspective and is for dorks with more spare time than sense. It should only be used for headless servers and those promoting it for normie use should be executed for their crimes of wasting people's precious minutes on this earth.

@nwordnorton I cannot believe how bad it is when you use it for anything else other than browsing twitter lol.It took 4 hours to make my last video because openshot crashed every 10 minutes lol.How can it be that bad, how can it possibly be released in that state and people think it is acceptable

@PapaPol @nwordnorton its so cool when you start using it, install the programs you want, then obviously the first few hours are just browsing the web, then when you fire up those programs, youre like "oh these dont work at all, why would they do that" lol

@ziptie @coolhandjames @ziptie @coolhandjames It was Manjaro (that's an Arch fork yeah?), it's entirely possible it was me not paying attention, I can't remember. I had spent too long playing around customising settings and shit and couldn't be bothered reinstalling. I'll still use it here and there for computers that do real basic tasks because it's very good on resources, but it's not really viable for me as a primary OS when I've got shit to do.

@coolhandjames It helps to know a thing or two about tech before running linux, its the equivalent of driving a manual transmission vehicle in the computer world, it gives you full control over your hardware.Still running Xubuntu on a 2005 lenovo thinkpad 32bit.Huge issue with linux is that its seldom you find computers with it preinstalled.if you swap out an OS onto a cpu it wasnt originally designed for, there sometimes tedious tweaking you gotta do to harmonize it with the hardware.
