I love how the US version of the "Truckers Protest" was essentially defeated by Washington DC's horrific traffic & surly drivers. They mostly stayed on the beltway and didn't really cause any disruption. It's legitimately hilarious that our over dependence on private vehicle infrastructure came in clutch as an asset to domestic tranquility. The headaches they did cause were to private government contractors trying to get to suburban office parks which is also just *chef's kiss* beautiful.

@CaptBobbers In one case, they were also stymied by a guy on a bicycle, which as a cyclist myself I absolutely LOVE.

@bradysflungtablet You've got to be a special kind of completely out of your mind to be a cyclist in DC... those truckers never stood a chance.Look at these bike lanes which go down the center of the street... A SIX LANE STREET with only "suggestion bumps" between you and vehicle traffic.

@CaptBobbers I'll have to take a pic of what we cyclists get here in New Orleans. I'd kill for even a setup like that. I have eyes in the back of my head.

@bradysflungtablet Bruh, here in Savannah, GA, one of our crosstown "cycle ways" (read: gutters lightly painted as a bike lane) just unceremoniously ends into a 45mph stroad with no sidewalks.Check out Google street view on Habersham St at Stephenson Ave... we're supposed to turn left, across five lanes, onto Stephenson which then just ends a block down at another stroad... essentially no where.

@CaptBobbers I bet Savannah is like New Orleans too in that the topography is ideal for cycling, and yet the city government is anywhere from indifferent to hostile to cyclists.
