Today I found out that as a freelancer you can only apply to Dutch government jobs through 8 brokers.. who then take 10% to 14% of your fee, while doing absolutely nothing. #maffia

@Gina Same in UK with things like the NHS Digital service. My wife looks like she's on a day rate until you factor in the middlemen...

@Gina @dajbelshaw Oof. When a government job wants to underpay you for having 40yrs of experience at the age of 25. Then forces you to go through a broker to take more of that percentage away. :blobcatamongus:

@Gina het kan ook anders, als je een rol of projectbeschrijving met je klant afspreekt die niet door zo'n mantelcontract gedekt wordt je kunt dan ook op klussen als eenmanszaak inschrijven. Meer administratief werk, maar geen 10-14% afroming.

@Gina hang v definitie v groot af. Onderhands enkelvoudig is tot 50k per project, onderhands meervoudig buiten mantel tot EU aanbestedingsgrens v 214k.

@Gina maar goed, dat is allemaal buiten iT en agile enzo. Mijn werk is daardoor makkelijker buiten een mantel te plaatsen.
