I wrote about how biological sex should be a class that hate crimes acts should protect. Due to the disproportionate amount of violence against women. Had a guy say that it was a “slippery slope” that “beliefs or words, even if abhorrent should not be criminalized.” Then went on a rant about how women accept terms like b**** while black communities and gay communities stand against slurs. Just 🙄 🙄 A hate crime isn’t just words but a physical or verbal threat where someone fears their safety. Although it also shows how normalized threats against women are. Also, how hard it is to get all women from all backgrounds to support their own interests. Due to being raised and internalizing sexism. I don’t think I’m qualified to fully break down his viewpoint.

@Ember_Simone What a moron he is. He clearly doesn't know what "hate crime" means whatsoever. Most women do not accept bitch, and if they do, only amonst themselves just as SOME black communities use the N-word or SOME gay communities use queer or fag, but not all. And words like that are irrelevant to hate crimes. Calling someone a bitch isn't a hate crime but raping and killing a woman is because obviously it's only done BECAUSE she's a woman.

@Morbidemoness I’ve definitely seen white religious women suck in between their teeth cuz the man in her life is “just boys being boys.” Or deny the power behind it because “pull yourself up by your bootstraps instead of complaining.” “We’re all equal, your victim mentality holds you back” bullshit. I don’t excuse his stupidity but it saddens me when u see women being like that

@Ember_Simone I think a lot of women refuse to accept feminism or misogyny or the fact that nearly all sex-violence is committted by males because it means admitting that maybe the men in their life also do those things. at the very least, show them disrespect or think of them as lesser. They can't bear to process it so they hide from it. That's just my opinion anyway. It's a painful reality to face.

@Morbidemoness I agree. It is fear, it’s easier to say you know how to handle men or to shame others and hope you’ll be fine. Men are the danger but society is very good at convincing women they need the man to be safe

@Morbidemoness @Ember_Simone So true. So many women work so hard to avoid looking at their own fathers, brothers, sons and husbands. If those men don't openly beat them they fall all over themselves to praise those men. Drooling praise. It makes me sick, really because it feels so desperate.

@SomaliRose @Ember_Simone It really does. People don't deserve praise for not raping and killing other people; that should be the expected norm. If a person doesn't behave that way, they're nothing but beasts who need to be euthanized or so severely mentally ill that they don't belong in society. Praising someone for doing the bare minimum is ridiculous.
