Hoomans evolve super rapidly, our personal behaviour but also the way we interact and ofc our standards! Personally I am all for this, to be honest we have some "weird" stuff that's quite normal but I have a feeling younger generations don't want it! For example here in the #Netherlands we have some ridiculous traditions around 5 Dec, it's getting better and better but this wasn't without "letting go" and "growing up". Traditions are not always a good thing, not by a long shot! Better update or reinvent them our own way :blobcathearts: but same goes with Twitter or Mastodon guidelines for example. You need to grow over time and don't stick to the past...

@stuxAgreed, traditions aren't automatically okay just because they've been around for ages.I don't know where people get this idea from.We have to always be critical of our own beliefs, & those things that we think are totally normal.Always keep in mind is that beliefs & traditions are separate from the person. Many people feel attacked when a belief is criticised since they associate it as being an extension of themselves.Once you let go of this you can grow & move on.

@stux @dysfun I looked it up, because I didn’t know about Sinterklass. The fact that this makes you embarrassed makes me even more embarrassed to be from the USA.
