@anokasion Twitter doesn't have to be open sourced to talk to activitypub. It can just as easily tomorrow do that. The question is, will elon do it?

@anokasion not sure. Well if he were to open source it, how better is setting up a twiiter instance than mastodon or pleroma for example? Sure there are alternatives but what's the upside ? Currently I do not run a twitter handle but let's say the open up the aph, I could tweet to a user in twitter from my pleroma account like I can a mastodon account from here. That's great already but sure. The more the merrier.

@randy I, well, agree in every point with what you wrote, it would be cool everyone to be "interconnected", but now that I think about it, there's probably a lot of stuff governments doesn't want or even allow people to "discover" that are actually open/shared on side platforms as Mastodon/Pleroma/some other fork, so I don't think Twitter accounts will be able to access the former ever, let's be real :airisad:
